TAX CREDIT FOR WOOD FURNACES
The American Recovery and Reinvestment Tax Act of 2009 was signed into Law on February 17, 2009. This economic stimulus package provides for a 30% Tax Credit (up to $1500) for purchasing and placing into service a bio-mass burning heating appliance with a thermal efficiency rating of at least 75% as measured using a lower heating value.
DETAIL OF THE TAX CREDIT

The tax credit is 30% of the amount paid for the qualifying product up to $1500 combined for both 2009 and 2010.

The item is installed in or on a dwelling unit located in the U.S. and, at the time of installation, the dwelling unit is owned and used by the taxpayer as the taxpayer's principal residence.
- The credit is allowed for amounts paid by the taxpayer during the taxable year.
HOW TO QUALIFY
- Purchase and place into service a qualifying Yukon-Eagle multi fuel or wood furnace between January 1, 2009 and December 31, 2010.
- Save the Sales Receipt and the Manufacturer's Certification Statement for the furnace purchased.
- Claim the tax credit associated with your qualifying purchase on your federal filing for the 2009 and/or 2010 tax year.
